Kagome sees a Soul Piper, a demon that consoles the spirits of children. She helps Mayu, a girl who is about to become an evil spirit, to pass on.
This episode has a powerful lesson: children who suffer are affected for the rest of their life from traumatic experiences. The little girl who died in the fire was the ultimate depiction of suffering from seeing the world wrong and never being able to be laid to rest.
This is for some people, a favorite episode. To me, it is quite haunting. I still enjoyed seeing Kagome’s unending kindness and firm belief in mother’s love. These are all things I really can learn from.
